About the workshop

The laws for counselor registration in Washington State have changed. This training is Washington State approved for the Certified Counselor and Certified Advisor classification.

This class will cover:

Appropriate risk assessment.

Ethical standards concerning the roles/relationships of the clint, the counselor/advisor and supervisor.

Appropriate screening techniques utilizing the global assessment and funtioning scale.

Proximal, process and post-treatment outcomes.

When to make an appropriate referral to a licensed mental health professional.

Washington State law condering the regulation of Certified Counselor, Certified Advisor, and Agency Affiliated Counselor.

About the presenter

Richard Stride, Ph.D., Psy.D., LPC, NCC, LMHC, MCP, NCFE, CCCE, has been in the counseling and forensic mental health field since 1990. He is licensed in mental health both in Washington and Colorado as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor, respectively. Dr. Stride is a Nationally Certified Psychologist (NCP) by the North American Association of Masters in Psychology Professional Psychologist Certification Board (PPCB). He is also certified by The National Board of Forensic Evaluators (NBFE), as a Certified Forensic Mental Health Evaluator and a Certified Child Custody Evaluator.

Dr. Stride has taught psychology courses at the college level and conducts workshops on ethics, professional practice, mental health forensic services and working with the legal system.
